Our Safeguarding Policy
Safeguarding at [Organisation Name]
At Skills Development Training, we are committed to ensuring that everyone who participates in our projects feels safe, respected, and supported. We take our responsibility to protect children, young people, and adults at risk from harm, abuse, and neglect very seriously.
Our safeguarding approach is embedded in everything we do, from how we recruit our staff and volunteers to how we design and deliver our activities.
We have a comprehensive safeguarding policy that outlines our standards, responsibilities, and the procedures we follow to keep people safe. We review this policy regularly to ensure it remains effective and aligned with current best practice.
How to Report a Concern
If you have any concerns about the safety or wellbeing of a child, young person, or adult involved in our work, please let us know immediately. We treat every report with sensitivity, seriousness, and confidentiality.
If someone is in immediate danger or at risk of serious harm, please contact the police or your local authority social services department straight away.
If your concern is not an emergency, you can report it to us in the following ways:
-
Email our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL): ade@skillsdevelopmenttraining.org
-
Call our Safeguarding Lead: 07990553926
What happens next?
When you report a concern, our Designated Safeguarding Lead will:
-
Listen to the information provided in a calm and supportive manner.
-
Record the details of the concern accurately and securely.
-
Assess the situation and determine the necessary next steps.
-
Escalate the report to the appropriate statutory agencies (such as social services or the police) if required to keep someone safe.
Please note that while we respect your privacy, we cannot promise total confidentiality if a disclosure indicates that someone is at risk of harm. In such cases, we have a legal and ethical duty to share information with the relevant authorities.
Our Commitment
Our safeguarding culture relies on everyone—staff, volunteers, partners, and participants—being vigilant and clear on how to speak up. We provide regular training to our team to ensure they know how to recognise risks and respond appropriately to any concerns that may arise.
